These Few Days
Monday afternoon the kids didn't have any sports after school and spent a ton of time on their screens Minecrafting together. They are addicted! I did a double take when I saw this picture because Ramsey is growing fast (in April he was my height and now he is 2" taller than me…he is the same height as Michael who has been 1-2" taller than him for a while now) right now but see how big his knees are? He is *much* bigger than Ant in this picture and I believe his bones are growing fast too because they aren't small kid-sized bones anymore but man-sized bones. He's growing!
I ordered a whole bunch of clothes from Gap for the boys on Black Friday in preparation for our family photographs with an official photographer on Sat 12/12. Ramsey does not fit sz 14 pants and needs sz 16, shown above. Ant wears sz 10 pants but needs the adjustable elastic waist cinched tight. I had to bribe them to try on these clothes (bribe = more screen time) but neither would stop of really pose nicely for these pics for me.
Ant refused to go practice his dribbling on Tuesday afternoon. I told him I'd go outside with him and practice with him. Nope. Then Ramsey said, "Come on Ant, let's go do it together." And that did it! Ant really looks up to Ram and will respond to Ram. Ant was particularly grouchy that evening because he hadn't gotten enough sleep over the weekend and he ended up having a temper tantrum ("No one in this house loves me except Mom! I don't love anyone in this house except Mom! You guys are all mean!") for no particular reason. As Ramsey and I drove off that night to his basketball practice and my little league board meeting, Ramsey said, "Phew. He's in a bad mood." I told Ram, "Yes, he is. When he's tired or hungry he's especially hard to deal with. But if he's in a bad mood and you give him lots of positive energy he'll respond." Ram says, "Yeah, it's not worth it. You give him so much positive energy but you never know when he's going to explode again."
I took Ram to his NJB practice on Tuesday 7-8:30pm. Their practice is at Menlo School's gym. Menlo School is a very nice private school (and I looked at their website and the school year tuition for ONE child is $41,400!) and the gym is beautiful. As we were leaving, Ramsey said, "This school looks like a San Francisco mansion." Yep, each building does. There is a huge blow up snowman at the front of the school and Ramsey asked me to take him pic with snowman.
Last night Ramsey was flying his drone when the wire he soldered in over the weekend popped out again. He had not returned the soldering kit to Terry yet so he took it out and Ram and Hen soldered his drone wires again.
And here he is flying his drone again...
