Being carried like a big baby...
On Wed 12/23, John and his older sister Anna came over at 9am to play Monopoly (SUPER SUPER loud) and Apples to Apples. Anna helped Annie and I bake and decorate cookies while the boys had no interest -- they watched TV instead and then went out to the local park to play baseball (home run derby?).
Ram and Ant trading baseball cards together...
On Christmas Eve, we all went out for some errands. We went to the police station to buy overnight parking passes (which we really don't need because they are not enforcing parking on the street until 1/3/16) and Ant and Ram went to visit the quacking ducks nearby. Yes, Ant wore shorts, a short sleeve T-shirt and slippers on a cold and rainy day. We forced him to wear a jacket when we went to Target.
Christmas Eve night (last night), we let the boys open one present each. Ant got a Gravity Maze from Aunty Annie and Ramsey got a lego set from us.
The kids played with their game/lego immediately.
They set out cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer and a cup with a note to "Help yourself to milk" for Santa.
Early this morning the boys found their loot.
And were thrilled to get Lazer Tag guns from Santa…until they read the box and that they need iPhone 4s or iPod Touch's of that generation -- my iPhone 6 doesn't work nor does the older generation iPod Touch…so Ramsey's is disappointed. We will have to ask Santa's workshop what to do with the toys.
I love the above shot of us 4 that Annie took this morning...
When we asked Ant what he wanted to do to celebrate this birthday, he said he'd like us to bring him breakfast in bed of ice cream and his lollipop that he got at Reilly's birthday party a few weeks ago. Yep, he got his wish! Thankfully he stopped eating his lollipop not long after starting.
Annie made a delicious breakfast casserole (broccoli slaw, chicken sausage, spinach, cheese and eggs) and we all had a late-ish breakfast together.
Anthony got to open up 2 presents (recall Hendrik's rule of one-present-a-day) for his birthday and Christmas (a duck and an Engineering Ants game from Annie) while Ramsey got to open up one present for Christmas (which was a 24oz Thermos for his lunch but is too big so will have to be returned).
Ramsey made all 4 of us beautiful snow globes for our presents!
The boys played another 2 games of Monopoly together. After a while, I heard Anthony say, "Ram I brought you a cheerleader." And he handed over Sherby to Ram. Sweet, huh?
Anthony made up beautiful cards for Christmas at school. He merged Annie with our immediate family and made one card for Oma and Opa plus Popo and Gung Gung (so unfortunately I can't send it to either set of grandparents).
Ramsey continued working on his Lego set…he likes to sit on the floor with a cushion and asks us, "Mrs Part Finder, come help me!" And if I'm not available, he asks Annie, "Substitute Part Finder, come help me!"
