Catch Up (Now that my iPhone Works)

My phone is alive! I turned it on 48 hours after having it in a bag of rice to dry out and it seems to work fine. I am so relieved. I was able to download the pictures that I hadn't previously downloaded. So…here's a big catch up post. Above is my recent cooking adventures. I made my first batch of spam musubis last week Wednesday and now the kids keep requesting it for snacks! Sigh… Ramsey (and Michael and Kevin and Kevin's boss) caught rockfish on Sun 8/23 -- they brought over some rockfish fillets and I bread and pan fried them. Oh my the house smelled AWFUL but the fish was pretty good.



While the fish was cooking, Hen adjusted Ant's bike by raising the seat and tuning it up. Hen biked Ant to school on Thurs and Fri last week.



I biked Ant home last Thurs and it was nerve wracking. There is a lot of traffic on the road between Ant's school and our neighborhood. When I picked up Ant, he was holding his stuffed animals Quacklyn and Little Orkie with his friend Robby. When we got home, I had him pose next to our tomato plant. Can you see Quacklyn and Little Orkie peeking out of his backpack? That is how he rode home on his bike…with stuffed animals.

Ant had his 3rd grade back to school swim party at Robby's house on Sun 8/30 2-4pm. He had a great time. He was one of the last 3 boys to leave and in the last pic he is with Ayden, Robby and William. Those 4 have so much fun together. He had slept over at Robby's house on Friday night -- he went home with Robby after school and I didn't pick him up until noon on Saturday. He had fun but was grumpy and tired on Sat afternoon and even Sunday morning.



This week we started a morning carpool with Sarah and Reilly. I will drive every morning this week and then I am off for 2 weeks. Michael and Ramsey are in the same math class (Algebra and most of the kids are 8th graders with 4-5 7th graders) and are doing homework together after school. On Tues 9/1, Ayden and Anthony wore the same shorts and they had to pose together when I picked them up (came home for snack and then I drove them to soccer which is 4-5:30). Last, Hen was fixing Ram's bike this afternoon -- while my phone was dead, Ram called Hen to say his bike was broken. His bungee cord got caught in the spokes. Hen fixed it. The pic of Hen is the first pic I took after I revived the phone…so all seems well.
