Still More Stuff and Stuff

More miscellaneous stuff from this week. The kids had minimum day (8:30-11:45) for school on Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs because of teacher conferencing. There is no school today, Fri 10/16.

We had a conference with Anthony's teacher Mrs Seely (Mon-Thur) and Mrs Dehne (Fri) on Wed. This is the second time Ant has been in a class where the teachers team teach (1st grade he had Mrs Maury and Mrs Moretti who split the week 50-50). He had lots of good comments from the teachers -- well behaved but fun, really good a math and one of the strongest readers. They both love that Anthony loves ducks so much and loves that it comes out in his school work. The kids had to make a building with windows to show a multiplication fact. Ant chose to make a yellow building and check out how he wrote Ducks Rule and drew two ducks outside. So cute. Check out his self portrait (I blogged about this a month back) where there is a duck on his shirt. While we had the conference, Ant played outside with Ayden. Ramsey was at John's house.

With the free time on these minimum days, the boys have been watching a lot of TV. Ram loves watching Hawaii 5-0 and Ant likes watching the shows too…but he is really frightened by the thought of bad guys. He doesn't like to go ANYWHERE in our house without someone else. Our house is small!  We can hear each other from nearly anywhere in the house! We have to go with him to the bathroom, go with him to get socks out of his closet (and the closet is another big scary place where robbers can hide) and he did not sleep well on Tues or Wed nights. As a matter of fact he came over to our room so often after bedtime on Wed night that I finally went to sleep with him at 10pm (he still hadn't fallen asleep) thinking to leave when he did fall asleep. He had such a restless sleep and clutched onto me periodically that I ended up sleeping with him all night. Poor scared Ant.

I thought Ramsey would quit soccer. But his team is short players and the coaches said he can play any game he wants and doesn't have to come to every practice. He went on Thurs 5-6pm and will play in tomorrow's game. Last night after dinner, we all biked to Stanford to watch the Stanford vs UCLA game. We stayed until the middle of the 2nd quarter and biked home. Kick off was 7:30pm and we got the boys in bed by 9:30pm. It was a late night but Ram seems to enjoy watching the game. Ant and I were tired.
