Ramsey's team had two baseball games 8:00-10:00 and 10:15-12:15 on Sat 10/24. They won the first game and lost the second. Notice Rams has one pant leg pulled up? He thinks this is his new lucky look, ha ha. As soon as the second game was over (early), I got a text from Michael's parents that Ramsey's (same team) team has only 8 players for the soccer game when they need 11. Sigh...

Ramsey and I rushed home from Sunnyvale, grabbed his uniform and cleats and made it back to Mountain View for the last 3/4 of the game (which was 11:45-12:45). Their team still lost. Michael's parents took Ram home and Hen took Ram to Robotics from 1:30 to 3:45. Meanwhile...

I left Ram's soccer game and drove to Union City (near Fremont) for Ant's two soccer games 1:10-2:10 and then 5:50-6:50. I thought the 2nd game was 5:00 and we needed to be back at 4:30 so we didn't go home.

Instead, I took Ant to eat lunch and we found a dim sum (not particularly good) place because Union City is a very Asian/Chinese city. I had not eaten much for breakfast or lunch (and afterward I found out neither did Ram between soccer and Robotics) so I was eager to eat. Ant and I also went to Daiso and bought some things -- balloons, origami planes and we entertained ourselves between the games. Ant's team tied 3-3 and 3-3 for both games! Oh boy, Ant was not happy (tired, hungry) after the 2nd game ended at 6:50 and we headed home…tired boy.

This morning Ant put erasers (which we bought at Daiso the day before) on all our pencils. Ant is*really* into memory right now and he is so good at it. He beats Ramsey -- Ram gets 1/3 and Ant gets 2/3 of the cards.

I drove the 5 boys on the team that are from Menlo Park/Atherton to the field...

Their game this morning at 10:15. They played on field 2 which is a turfed field so they are not able to wear cleats. Ram is wearing his "old" basketball shoes (sz 7) which are now his everyday shoes. Last weekend when I was in Honolulu (post on that later), Ram needed to possibly wear his everyday shoes and when Hen looked at the bottom of his shoes, the foam/lining had shown through the bottom -- they were that worn out -- so Hen took Ram to buy a new pair of shoes. They found the same one as his basketball shoes and bought a sz 7.5. The 7.5's are now the basketball (court only) shoes while the 7's became the everyday shoes. The team won the first game and played *REALLY* well…no errors and lots of good hits (except Ram hit two to the outfield that were caught and another one to the outfield and he was thrown out at first).

...and had to play the 1st seed team at 2:45. Sadly they lost 10-2. Ramsey came in to pitch the top of the 5th inning 9-2 when bases were loaded with 1 out. He struck out the next batter, now 2 outs. The next batter hit a dinker/bunt. Ram retrieved it and as he was bringing it up to throw to 1st, he dropped it. An error. Sigh…the batter was safe. The next batter hit something out to left field, bringing in a runner for 10-2 which ended the game (mercy rule >8 after the 3rd inning). Sigh. If he didn't make the error and ended the inning, his team would have had another at-bat. Sigh.

During the 2:45 game they had a huge cheering section with the Thunder (other 12u team) and Blast (10u team, Ant's friend William is on this team and William is the short kid in the center of this pic) cheering them on. It was a fun game to watch until Ram's team lost focus and made some errors that continued to get worse and worse...

In summary, there were 12 sports events for the boys this weekend. Ramsey baseball Sat 8am, Sat 10:15am, Sun 10:15am, Sun 2:45pm, Anthony soccer Sat 1:10, Sat 5:50, Sun 9:10, Sun 12:45pm, Ramsey soccer Sat 11:45, Anthony batting Sat 10:30, Ramsey basketball Sat 4-6pm, Sun 6-8pm. On top of that, Ramsey went to Robotics Sat 1:30-3:30. And Anthony had a playdate at Robby's Sun 4:15-7pm. Whew, what a busy weekend!
