Halloween Xtreme Baseball Scrimmages, Yes Plural!

One of Ramsey's bike tires were flat when school let out. He called me from the school phone because HE DOESN'T CHARGE UP HIS CELL PHONE NOR DOES HE TAKE IT TO SCHOOL! Not sure why we bought that boy a phone… I told him to wait for me and I'll come with the minivan to pick him and his bike up. He calls right back and asks if he should take the bus home as he can put the bike on the front of the bus. I told him I would pick him up because he had a scrimmage 4-6:15pm and if he took the bus he wouldn't be home until 3:50 or later. Okay. Michael calls me not 2 minutes later and asks if Ram can take the 2nd bus (arrives home 4:05 ish) home with him since Ram's tire is flat. I told Michael there was no way I could reach Ram (BECAUSE HE DOESN'T KEEP HIS CELL PHONE CHARGED AND WITH HIM) but Michael said he would run to the office and get Ram and take him to the bus stop with him. I said okay. Ram comes home at 4:10. He didn't take his cape with him but I fixed it while he was at school. He comes in and puts on his cape and he said a lot of people at school thought he was a butler…I stuck bunny ears on his top hat and we went off to his Xtreme Halloween Scrimmage. The light at the baseball field was quite nice and I got some really nice pics of Ramsey playing first base. Ramsey told me as I was tucking him in bed tonight, "Thank you Mommy for my Halloween costume. I really like it." So sweet!

While Ant was at school I got a call from Joni. Ant made the Xtreme 10u Blast team! Yay for Ant! Joni said the coaches (James and Jullian) said they could have had Ant on the team all season, ha ha. When he came home from school at 3:40 (Hen came home to help drive the boys around), we asked him if he wanted to go to his Fall Ball practice 4-5:30 or the Blast Halloween scrimmage 4:15-6:15. He said Blast of course! He told us he has to wear a belt to practice…the coaches told him to do so at the last practice (Monday) when he didn't have one. He wore his blue cape and the king crown. Hendrik took him to the field (different from Ramsey's field). Ant played 2 innings of catcher and did OK. He came up to bat 3 times -- strike out, fly out and a walk. I came to watch his game for about 45 minutes. Notice that he is batting with a GREEN bat? It is William's bat. Recall that the "expensive" and "popular" bat was the orange Easton Mako bat (that Ramsey finally got) that retails for about $300? Well the newest "hot" bat is the green Easton Mako new version bat that retails for (get this) $550. On Monday when Ram got to this team's practice, he said, "This team has nice bats Mom, wow 3 green Mako's!" Yes…this team has  parents that will buy their kids expensive gear!

Then I went back to Ramsey's game and the light was about gone. It was dark and these were the best pictures I got at the end. Ram came up to bat twice and got a far fly out to CF and a good line drive to CF. Yay, both boys are playing Xtreme now! The season is almost over with one more tournament in San Diego.

Happy Halloween (at School)

I got up at 5:30 and added the buttonholes and buttons to the vest for Ramsey's magician costume. The pants and white shirt are from his band performance outfit that I sewed for him back at the end of 5th grade which he also used for his end of 6th grade band concert too. The pants are a bit snug and I had to let down the him by 1.5" but it works. I sewed the vest over Wed and Thurs. Hen is putting his tuxedo bow tie on for Ram.

My magician and Scream/monster! I safety pinned the cape to the vest for Ram but when I got home from Ant's Halloween Parade and class party, I found that Ram left the cape at home. We borrowed the top hat from a friend and the magic wand from another friend.

Ant and I arrived at school at 7:50am to help the librarian Ms Warren (Ramsey's 2nd grade teacher) take pictures of kids in their costumes with a book that is their character.

Sensory boxes -- cooked pasta for "intestines", jello for "brains", peeled grapes for "eyeballs" -- which the kids had to put their hands into. Ha ha. So much fun at Ant's party.

Class picture - notice there are three scream monsters in his class of 19?! Ant's friend William was also a scream monster. He is in another class. When I was waving at him (thinking it was Ant), he said, "I'm not Ant! I'm W I double L!"

Stuff the Sporty Boys are Doing

Some pics and updates on the boys these last couple of days...

Monday after school, Anthony went to practice with the 10u Xtreme team that his friend William is on. This team is mostly older kids (10s and a few 9s) and they will only have 9 players going to the San Diego tournament in a few weeks. Joni (Xtreme owner) is looking for a few younger brothers (of older brothers already going to San Diego for Xtreme) to be subs for this team. Ant went to practice to see if he could fit in with this team. Midway through the 4:15-6:15 practice, I went to pick up Ramsey from his 4-5:15 batting practice -- and he ended up searching for tennis balls with John Q and playing handball with John and Tyler. Ram and I went back to watch Ant and the coaches asked if Ram wanted to practice/play also since there were an uneven number of boys at practice. Of course Ram wanted to join in!

Ram had an orthodontist appointment 7:20am before school yesterday 10/27. His orthodontist was wearing a Halloween costume! There were 4 patients, including Ram, at the office at the time of Ram's appointment -- all 4 boys play Menlo-Atherton Little League in the Majors division…it was like a baseball boys get together ha ha. After the appointment I had to drop Ram and Ant at school. Ant was sitting in the middle of the back row because Ram's bike was previously in the middle row. Ant was watching Star Wars Clone Wars. Ram will get braces in Feb 2016 -- we got a quote/estimate of how much the braces will cost $7500!!! Yikes. His expander treatment already cost $3K. When it is all done, he will have a $10K smile. Ha ha.

Ant's soccer coach Ray brought the tournament trophy to practice yesterday. Ant had to take pics with it. Ray was so proud of Ant. He said when the game ended in a tie, he went to talk to the officials about the PK penalty kick tie breaker rules. When he came back to the team, Benjamin had already taken off his goalie jersey and Anthony had it on. Ray asked them, "Is this what you guys want?" Benjamin (this is the kid who took Ant and Ayden to a SF Giants baseball game back in Sept for his birthday celebration) said, "Yep, Ant is taller and can reach farther." And that's how Ant became the PK goalie and was still wearing his goalie jersey when he kicked in the last PK goal to win!
